Senior Watch Program
Springfield Township Senior Watch Program
Officer Glenn Corey
330-542-2377 extension 140
Springfield Township has created specific programs for the senior population. The goal of Senior Watch is to provide a needed service to the senior citizens in Springfield Township by “checking up” on them. The Senior Watch program is divided into two options, (1) the Senior Watch Call program and (2) the Senior Watch Visitation program. The calls and visits to Senior Watch participants reduce fear and promote individual safety and security and are conducted by an officer from the Springfield Township Police Department (330-542-2895).
During an initial home visit with an officer from the Springfield Township Police Department, you will complete an application and sign a consent form. This information, which includes your name, address, phone number and the time(s) you wish to be called or visited. Your medical information is also recorded should an emergency arise.
If you choose the Senior Watch Visitation program, an officer will periodically stop by and check in on the program participant. The visits will be brief and are intended to be non-intrusive. The officer will announce his/her presence and that he/she is just “stopping by” to check on the resident as a part of the Senior Watch program.
If, any time, day or night, you think there may be a problem or you’re in need of help you can call 911 or 330-542-2895 and an officer will come to your assistance.
